How to become an Equipment Engineer
An equipment engineer is responsible for the design, development, and testing of equipment used in a variety of industries. As an equipment engineer, you will use your knowledge of physics and engineering principles to create products that meet the needs of your customers. In order to become an equipment engineer, you will need to earn a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university. Once you have completed your degree, you will need to pass the Engineer in Training (EIT) exam administered by your state’s engineering board. After passing the EIT exam, you will be able to work as an entry-level engineer under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer. Once you have gained several years of experience, you can then take the Professional Engineering (PE) exam to earn your professional engineering license.
