A pharmacy cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions in a prompt and efficient manner. They must be able to accurately calculate change, process credit and debit card payments, and provide excellent customer service. In some cases, pharmacy cashiers may also be responsible for stocking shelves or performing other light janitorial duties.

How to become a Pharmacy Cashier

In order to become a pharmacy cashier, one must first complete a high school education or equivalent. Many pharmacy cashiers also have some college education. After completing the necessary education, one must then complete on-the-job training, which is typically provided by the employer. Some employers may require certification from the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (NPTB). Once all of the necessary education and training has been completed, one can then apply for a position as a pharmacy cashier.
