How to become a Cisco Voice Engineer
A Cisco Voice Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Cisco VoIP solutions. As a Cisco Voice Engineer, you will need to have a strong understanding of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection (CUC), and Cisco IP Telephony (IPT). You will also need to be familiar with other voice-related technologies such as H.323, SIP, QoS, and VoIP security.
To become a Cisco Voice Engineer, you will first need to obtain a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. Once you have your degree, you should then consider obtaining a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. After you have your CCNA certification, you can then begin studying for the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Voice certification. Once you have obtained your CCNP Voice certification, you will be well on your way to becoming a Cisco Voice Engineer.
