The project superintendent is also responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring that all safety regulations are followed.

How to become a Project Superintendent
In order to become a Project Superintendent, one must first complete an accredited construction management program or four-year engineering degree. After completing an accredited program, the individual must then obtain a minimum of four years’ experience working in the construction field in a management capacity. After obtaining the required experience, the individual must pass the Construction Management Association of America’s (CMAA) Certified Construction Manager (CCM) exam. Once the CCM exam is passed, the individual is then eligible to apply for their Project Superintendent certification through the CMAA.
