Published 3 min read
An RF Optimization Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing and troubleshooting wireless networks. They work with network operators to ensure that the network meets their needs and performs at its best.
RF Optimization Engineer job duties include:
- Monitor and analyze radio frequency (RF) propagation in order to identify potential problems and recommend solutions
- Design, develop, and implement RF optimization plans
- Perform radio network surveys to collect data for RF planning and optimization
- Analyze radio network performance data and identify areas for improvement
- Develop RF engineering models to predict radio coverage and capacity
- Plan and coordinate the deployment of new radio sites or the modification of existing sites
- Perform site acceptance testing to ensure that new radio sites meet specifications
- Commission new radio sites and troubleshoot any problems that may arise
- Provide on-going support and maintenance of the radio network
