An infantry is a branch of an army that fights on foot, using small arms.
Infantry job duties include:
- Carrying out offensive and defensive operations during combat
- Marching long distances and camping in rough terrain
- Using a variety of weapons to engage the enemy, including rifles, machine guns, grenades, and mortars
- Conducting reconnaissance missions and gathering intelligence on enemy movements
- Providing first aid to wounded comrades
- Digging foxholes and trenches for protection from enemy fire
- Setting up and operating communication equipment
- Participating in physical training to maintain fitness levels
- Performing sentry duty to guard against enemy attack
Infantry Job Requirements
An Infantry job requires a high school diploma or equivalent. There is no certification required, but experience in the military is preferred.

How to become an Infantry
In order to become an Infantry, there are a few things you will need to do. First, you will need to enlist in the Army. Once you have done that, you will need to attend basic training. After basic training, you will then attend infantry school. Upon completion of infantry school, you will be assigned to an infantry unit.
