Applications Engineer Job Requirements
An applications engineer typically has a bachelor's degree in engineering, although a degree in computer science is also acceptable. Certification from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is preferred. An applications engineer should have at least five years of experience working with software applications, as well as experience with the hardware that the applications will be running on.
