What does a Special Education Coordinator do?

A Special Education Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of special education programs and services within a school district. They work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure that students with disabilities receive the best possible education. Special Education Coordinator Job Requirements
A Special Education Coordinator must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, or a related field. They must also have certification in Special Education, and at least three years of experience working with special needs students in an educational setting. The coordinator must be able to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), as well as coordinate services between teachers, parents, and outside agencies. They must also be able to maintain records and monitor the progress of students.
