What does a Gas Attendant do?

A gas attendant is a person who works at a gas station and helps customers with their needs.
Gas Attendant job duties include:
- Greet customers as they pull up to the gas station
- Ask customers if they need help before they start pumping their gas
- Make sure that each customer’s vehicle is turned off and in park before starting to pump their gas
- Pump the gas for the customer
- Wash the customer’s windshield
- Check the oil level and tire pressure for the customer if they request it
- Take payment from the customer
- Give the customer their receipt
- Thank the customer for their business
Gas Attendant Job Requirements
There are no formal education requirements for a gas attendant, but most employers prefer to hire candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent. Some on-the-job training may be provided. No certification is required, but some employers may prefer candidates who have completed a certified training program. Previous experience is not required, but may be helpful.

How to become a Gas Attendant
