Pipeline Controller Job Requirements

Pipeline controllers must have at least three years of experience in the operation of natural gas pipelines, and must be able to pass a written examination administered by the DOT.

How to become a Pipeline Controller
In order to become a Pipeline Controller, an individual must first complete a four-year degree in engineering, mathematics, or physics from an accredited college or university. After completing their degree, the individual must then pass the National Association of Pipeline Safety Representatives Certification Exam. Finally, the individual must have at least five years of experience working in the pipeline industry.
