Neurosurgeon Job Requirements
A neurosurgeon must complete a four-year college degree, followed by a four-year medical degree. After completing a one-year internship, the neurosurgeon must complete a six-to-seven year residency in neurosurgery. To be certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, the neurosurgeon must pass written and oral examinations. Many neurosurgeons also complete fellowships in specific areas of interest such as pediatrics, oncology, or trauma.

How to become a Neurosurgeon
