What does a Kitchen Steward do?

- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area and equipment.
- Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pick-up areas.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Carry dirty dishes to dishwashing area.
- Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.
- Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars.
- Polish silver using burnishers and chemical silver polishes.
- Transport supplies to and from storage and serving areas.
- Clean garbage cans with water or steam
