A Curatorial Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Curator in the planning and implementation of exhibitions and public programs. This may include conducting research, writing labels and didactics, preparing materials for loan requests, and assisting with installation and de-installation. Curatorial Assistant Job Requirements

Most museums and galleries require a Curatorial Assistant to have at least a Bachelor's degree in art history, museum studies, or a related field. Many institutions also prefer candidates who have completed coursework or internships in collections management and care. Certification from the American Association of Museums is not required, but may be helpful in securing a position. Curatorial Assistants typically have one to three years of experience working in a museum or gallery setting.
